Users of this Bulletin Board may be interested to look at the British Library's new web page on Robert Graves and his works, at: http://www.bl.uk/collections/britirish/modbrigraves.html.
The main content and strength of the new page is a comprehensive bibliography of Robert Graves's works that primarily lists first UK editions of his works in chronological order, and is derived from the British Library's Public Catalogue (http://blpc.bl.uk). The list also includes some works about (or related to) RG and includes British Library shelf marks for each item.
Given the British Library's status and its role as a Legal Deposit library, which means that it should have received a copy from the publishers, on first publication, of every work written by Robert Graves published in the UK, this promises to become an authoritative checklist of his works and the first editions published in the UK.
The bibliography is divided into sections as follows:
Poems
Fiction
Criticism
Works for Children
Biography (by RG)
Miscellaneous
Related works
Bibliographies
It would be good to see the journals, journal articles and other non-book items added in due course, but this is an excellent start. The page is rounded off with a striking (and copyrighted) photo of RG by Bill Brandt.
Perhaps a link from the www.robertgraves.org web site could be set up?
